About

Inspired by the legend of The Hope Diamond, AMERICAN BLUE DIAMONDS, LLC, opened its doors as a family-owned, full-service fine jewelry store in 2005. The first store was located at 13201 FM 620N, in Austin, Texas. This store operated for 5 years from 2005 to 2010; then it was relocated to a larger and more charming location at 11066 Pecan Park Blvd, D409, in Cedar Park, Texas, alongside Lakeline Mall. Mrs.Linh Nguyen, Owner and President, is proud of her new jewelry business venture in the United States. Mrs. Nguyen previously owned 6 large electronics stores in Saigon City, Vietnam when she was just 18 years of age. Arriving in the United States at age 30, her initial intention was to become a pediatrician. She attended school and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin, obtaining a B.A. in Biology in 2002, and a B.S. in Psychology in 2004. She worked full-time as she attended school, and discovered a love of the jewelry industry while employed by Ben Bridge Jewelers, Gordon Jewelers (Zales Corp.), and Kay Jewelers (Sterling Corp.). Armed with passion and experience, she bravely opened her first jewelry store in 2005.

Despite being the top salesperson in each jewelry store, she wanted to increase her knowledge of jewelry, diamonds, gems, and metals to service her customers better. She began attending classes offered by the Gemological Institute of America and attained the distinctive title of Graduate Gemologist in 2008. She went on to train in Computer Aided Jewelry Design and purchased the Matrix CAD software and a wax milling machine from the Gemvision Corporation in 2009. She later pursued laser welding technology training and purchased a Laser Welder from the Laser Star Corporation in 2011. Mrs. Nguyen subsequently gained an Associate Degree of Applied Science in Jewelry and CAD Design at Austin Community College in 2012, graduating with honors. Always reaching higher, she elected to learn how to create original and unique jewelry from scratch. To accomplish this, she trained in and purchased a specialized 3-D jewelry printer from the Digital Wax Corporation in 2013. She is taking courses toward her Associates Degree in Computer Science at Austin Community College, and has plans to bring her IT department to the next level of marketing using the power of the web. Additionally, she graduated Texas A & M University in 2015, and currently a student in Doctoral Studies in Business and Management at Grand Canyon University. She is looking forward to expanding nationally and globally.

While working for the major jewelry chain stores, she acquired a great deal of knowledge about diamonds, gemstones, and the jewelry trade overall. However, she found she was disappointed with the way these stores attempted to create custom designed jewelry and provide friendly and attentive customer service. She eventually came to the conclusion that nothing would make her happier and more satisfied than to work with her own ideas, fascinate customers with new designs, provide the highest quality merchandise, and offer the finest level of customer service. Her store offers a complete spectrum of jewelry services, from original design, to wax, to casting, to setting stones, to polishing and presenting the final jewelry product. Customers can now have the ring of their dreams made to their exact specifications. Finally, unlike the majority of our competitors, Linh has also made it possible for you to have your jewelry appraised on-site for insurance purposes in one hour or less. She offers trade-in credit of estate jewelry for new jewelry, and cash for your unwanted silver, gold, platinum, palladium, pearls, colored gemstones, and diamonds. Most repairs for jewelry, watches, and eye-glasses can also be done in one hour. Linh’s well-trained staff includes her eldest son, Huy Nguyen (Vice-President, Jeweler, CAD Designer, Graduate Diamond, and Photographer), Terry Barner (Store Manager, Graduate Gemologist, and Jeweler.
